Unbroken - The Loius Zamperini Story

Dear Parent/Guardian,
Ms. Reinert’s 8th grade English classes are beginning a literary unit on the novel, Unbroken by renowned author, Laura Hillenbrand. Unbroken is the biographical story of Olympian, Loius Zamperini and the trials and tribulations he endured during WII. This unit will complete our study of WWII literature and tie in nicely with our field trip to the Holocaust Memorial and Tolerance Center scheduled for Wednesday, May 17th.
In order to help students grasp the magnitude of Zamperini's life experiences, we will view (in class) portions of the film, Unbroken (2014). Viewing of this PG-13 film, however, will only be offered to students in good academic standing. Students who are missing 4th quarter assignments will be afforded this class time, in lieu of the film, to complete their missing work and improve their final grade.
Please indicate consent for your child to view the film version of Unbroken by completing the information below. Permission slips must be returned to Ms. Reinert no later than Friday, May 19th.
