NOVEL STUDY:
It will take approximately 1.5 weeks to complete the reading of this novel and 4-5 weeks to complete the unit. In addition to the regularly scheduled weekly HW assignments, students will have chapter reading for The Cay every night.
QUIZ GRADES:
There will be a minimum of 3 announced & unannounced reading check quizzes in this unit. As such, students should be prepared for a reading check quiz (in class) every day.

Literary Analysis Exam -
In addition to plot structure, the study of this novel will include an in depth examination of characterization, symbolism & theme. The culminating exam will be OPEN BOOK!
